Toy Story 5 Trailer Sets The Beloved Duo Against a Tablet Computer
It has been 30 anniversary after the original Toy Story movie was released, launching Pixar as a leading film company and bringing viewers to iconic characters like the cowboy doll (Tom Hanks) and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), who are now famous worldwide.
In 2026, the next chapter is set to arrive. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 landed recently, providing a brief look into the storyline but leaving viewers curious how it will address the conclusion of Toy Story 4.
The Latest Addition: A Digital Device Frightens the Gang
In the teaser reveals Bonnie — who received Andy's toys when he left for college — getting a brand new plaything, one that terrifies Woody, Buzz, and the crew. Bonnie gets her initial digital gadget, and she is excited about it.
Presumably, the frog-shaped tablet will animate just like Bonnie's other toys. Still, the toys seem to view it as a danger coming to replace them, which it probably is.
Woody's Return: Unanswered Questions from Toy Story 4
One thing the trailer avoids is why Woody is returned with his companions in the child's bedroom. The finale of Toy Story 4 depicted him set off on a fresh journey with Bo Peep (the actress), journeying with a fair and assisting giveaway items locate loving owners.
Certainly, the filmmakers will address the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Witnessing him appear in Bonnie's room unexpectedly is a little strange, however. It also raises questions whether his partner will have come back with him. And what about the stuntman toy (Keanu Reeves)?
Continuity from the Previous Film
At the very least, some aspects are carrying over from the prior film. The last thing Woody did before setting off for his new life was pass his symbol of authority to Jessie (the voice actor), entrusting her as the leader of the toy domain. In the teaser shows the insignia pinned to her shirt.
Hopefully she is still the driving force among the toys.
Toy Story 5 arrives in theaters on June 19, 2026.
